Transas Aviation at HeliRussia-2010 Exhibition

At the HeliRussia-2010 helicopter industry held from 20 to 22 May, TRANSAS AVIATION presented airborne equipment for helicopters which improves significantly the flight safety.

Special interest was displayed by the visitors in the TTA-12H terrain awareness and warning system for helicopters with the forward looking terrain awareness function. The system is unique in that it has lower airspace and obstacles database. The system has successfully passed tests on the Мi-8/Мi-17, EC-135 family helicopters. The commercially manufactured and supplied TTA-12H has been certified in Russia and in Europe.

The Exhibition visitors were shown the helicopter avionics system with the SVS synthetic vision system as part of it, the LED-based airborne light equipment (aircraft navigation lights and stern navigation light), TSS satellite sensor using the GLONASS/GPS signals.

TRANSAS AVIATION equipment has been chosen by Eurocopter for installation on EC-135, EC-175 and other helicopter types produced by Eurocopter. The TTA-12H system, TSS GLONASS/GPS sensor, TDS-12 multi-functional display passed tests on EC-135, and having been awarded the pilots top assessment, were approved by the EASA. It was for the first time that the approval was given to the equipment manufactured by a Russian company and which had passed tests in Europe.

Apart from cooperation in the part of airborne equipment, Eurocopter will fit out its helicopters with the TSL-1600 SAR searchlights.

At HeliRussia-2010, TRANSAS AVIATION and the Swiss company Revue Thommen announced signing of an agreement on providing the Swiss company with a license to manufacture the TSL-1600 searchlight. Revue Thommen has proved its worth in the many years of cooperation as a reliable business partner with a high product quality, generally recognized in the world market. The primary factor was the exceptional Swiss quality. Under this agreement, the TSL-1600 searchlight will be sold in the European and American markets.

Cooperation with partners like Eurocopter, Revue Thommen and other foreign companies, the fact that TRANSAS AVIATION had been selected as a supplier of equipment for the European helicopters is a proof of the Transas Aviation products quality and its competitive strength in the internal and world market.

The demonstrated equipment became an object of close attention and practical interest on the part of TRANSAS AVIATION traditional and new customer. The necessity of installing the TRANSAS AVIATION up-to-date equipment has been confirmed by all the leading helicopter companies in Russia, Russian and foreign helicopter component developers.
