ÌÀÊS-2009: Transas UAVs
Transas Incorporated is presenting the majority of its UAV product line at the MAKS-2009 International Aviation and Space Salon. “Dozor-2”, “Dozor-3” and “Dozor-5” models are on display through out the duration of the show.
The “Dozor-3” is the newest addition to the Transas fleet and is making its public debut for the first time. This model has impressive size and weight characteristics over others in its class allowing increased fuel and payload capacity on medium altitude missions over long distances and flight duration.
This latest “Dozor-3” variant is the result of various customer inputs and market studies covering both international and domestic market trends in cooperation with R.E.T. Kronshtadt Company. Benefiting from previous experience and in-service data gathered from Transas’ other UAV offerings, the result is a model specifically tailored to meet the specific customer and mission needs for UAVs of this class.
Typical payloads for this model include traditional photo and video cameras, IR cameras operating in both short and long IR range, as well as other mission specific equipment such as gas analyzers, radar, agricultural, and other specialized equipment.
Capitalizing on the Dozor-3’s larger hull format, Transas has incorporated the ability to carry jettisonable payloads up to 100 kg in weight. Similarly, the agricultural version can be configured to carry upwards 200 kg of chemicals.
One of the main features of all Transas UAVs is their ability to fly and track on preprogrammed routes in automatic mode. The Company in cooperation with its partners has developed a specialized autopilot and flight control system which integrates GLONASS/GPS navigation and tracking capabilities drawing from a full compliment of independent micromechanical sensors such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and pressure sensors.
Development and introduction of Transas built “Dozor” UAVs will greatly enhance the capabilities of the Russian UAV network thus increasing their attractiveness in the domestic market with an impressive offering that is very competitive against foreign made alternatives.
The flight test is scheduled for 2010.
