This simulator is made by TRANSAS Company and is installed in the Aircraft College of Civil Aviation named after A. V. Lyapidevsky in Omsk, which is one of the oldest institutions in Syberia. Mi-171 full flight simulator was created and approved for crew training concerning tasks of crew preparation to solo flights. It’s important to note that this simulator permits realization of LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) and CRM (Crew resource management) methods, so it provides contingency training in terms of real flight accidents. It’s possible to imitate any adverse weather conditions including snow whirl and duststorm that is quite valuable with a view to meteorological conditions of helicopter operation. Flight personnel from more than 30 countries are trained in Russia on TRANSAS simulators. TRANSAS is a leading Russian company specializing in development and delivery of flight simulators, state of the art avionics, aeronautical data and databases. The Company was created in 1990.
