Recently, Transas has completed the delivery of two most up-to-date full-mission simulators of Mi-8T and Mi-8 MTV for UTair airlines (Tumen) Both helicopter simulators have spherical screens and 8-channel visual system. This allows accomplishing a great number of helicopter crew training tasks, such as landing on a small-size helipad, drilling platform, fulfilment of exercises like landing with picking out the landing ground from the air, etc. For the first time in the Russian simulator purchase practice, the leasing mechanism was used. After its installation at the specialised UTair Training Centre in Tumen, airlines of the area will receive the most up-to-date means for flight personnel training and certification. This will provide flight personnel with real-time practising of crew procedures not only in standard (regular) conditions, but also in adverse and emergency situations in all the flight phases. It will also improve helicopter flight safety and help to reduce the number of flight accidents caused by the so-called “human factor”. Qualification assessment of simulators and putting them into operation is scheduled for July. At the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2005 (in Zhukovski, Moscow region) Transas will demonstrate its most recent achievements in the development of flight simulators and onboard equipment. You are welcome to visit TRANSAS Pavilion at MAKS 2005 from 16 to 21 August this year. Transas is a leading Russian developer and producer of flight simulators, Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems (TAWS) and other aircraft equipment. UTair airlines is one of the largest operators of Russian made helicopters, being one of the world’s four helicopter giants with regard to the amount of helicopter operations. |
