Type Approval for Transas TAWS

On 26 June 2004, Transas received an Approval Certificate for its TTA-12 (Transas Terrain Awareness) system issued by the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee. The presentation ceremony was held on 28 June within the framework of the TAWS seminar in St.Petersburg.

As of January 2005, this equipment becomes mandatory for flights in the European airspace.

The TTA system has been developed and manufactured in accordance with the current and prospective civil aviation standards, recommendations and requirements (TSO-C151A), and can be installed on all types of civil airplanes and helicopters. The TAWS is a system providing the flight crew with visual and acoustic alerts about the unintended approach to the terrain, taking into account the flight stage, flight crew response time and aircraft speed.

TTA-12 is delivered with TDS-56D multi-functional display which received its Approval Certificate from the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee on 20 May. TDS-56D multi-functional display is used for displaying information from the TAWS, TCAS, weather radars, FMS or GPS, produced locally and abroad.
