Certification of Multi Function Display TDS-56D Completed

On 20 May 2004, Transas received Type Approval Certificate for TDS-56D multi-functional display. The Approval was issued by the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee.

TDS-56D unit is designed to display information from TCAS – Traffic Collision Avoidance System, TAWS – Terrain Awareness and Warning System, weather radars, FMS or GPS produced in Russia or abroad.

TDS-56D is the only certified Russian multipurpose display whose dimensions (5.6" cornerwise) allow its easy use in the modernizing of aircraft like An-124-100, Tu-154M, Il-76, Il-86, Yak-40, Yak-42 and others.

In the last few years, TDS-56D display has been put through a series of successful tests on board Russian aircraft in practically all the operational conditions, which have confirmed the necessity to use this system especially, during in flights over unmarked areas and in adverse weather conditions, as well as in the airspace of European countries when making flights in P-RNAV zones.

The company’s production program and facilities are rated for manufacture of hundreds of TDS-56D units, which allows responding to the demand of airlines which are expected to fit out their aircraft with TAWS before the end of this year. Along with TDS-56D, Transas offers ТТА-12 (TAWS) system whose certification will be completed in the immediate future.
