New Patent

Transas is proud to announce that on 27 April 2004, the company acquired patent N 37564 on the excessive terrain closure rate alert generator.

Receiving of this patent is a result of four year long work on the Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS). Starting from the year 2005, availability of such systems on civil aircraft will be made mandatory.

Algorithms and devices, registered by “Transas” are used in TTA-12 system (Transas Terrain Awareness). The main distinction between TTA-12 system and all the existing analogues consists in the fewer nuisance alerts and better quality of presented graphical information. As compared to similar systems, TTA-12 is also provided with the most complete information on the terrain and obstacles for all the areas of the world.

TTA-12 system is currently undergoing Type Approval procedure at the Aviation Register of Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee. The system meets all the TSO-C151A and ICAO requirements for the Terrain Awareness and Warning systems and is designed for installation on modernized aircraft, such as An-124-100, Tu-154M, Il-76, Il-86, Yak-40, Yak-42, etc.
